Connection

My grandma always told me that she has never met a stranger she didn't know. She had this infectious sprit about her where she would always share her story with whoever she encountered. When she passed I realized that she instilled this very spirit in me. Growing up she was my primary care taker and I saw her talk to every cashier, janitor, waitress, and passerby loving on others in the most charming way.

One of my favorite quotes is from Mother Teresa and she says to "spread love wherever you go. Don't let anyone come to you without leaving happier." What does that mean to me? It means smiling at strangers, greeting those who serve/help you by their names, and asking people about their day. Connection is simply slowing down and being attune to the needs of others. But connection is also vulnerability and man, that's a whole lot harder.
